Mein schΓΆnstes Herbsterlebnis (Tag 1)

26 October 2025

This year my so-called-annual-Euro holiday gave me an ultimate new experience. A total autumn one! I have seen so many stunning photos of foliage and mood of fall landscape everywhere, and in this holiday I have been fortunate to capture myself.

I had a meet up with a friend whom I had been communicating back and forth for quite some time now, I decided to join him in Obertraun, which was one of his photo road trip destination.

I arrived earlier and accidentally got off of the train one station earlier, in Hallstatt station, and I needed to walk about 2.3 km to reach Obertraun Dachstein, the place I had should had gotten off.

The detour, yes, supposed to be 30s minutes 🫠 (Ref: Google Map, 12 Nov 2025)

But I did not complain, I was grateful even, for the scenery was so stunning, made me constantly in awe!

Landed in Hallstatt. I was blown away already!
I did not mind dragging my suitcase for this view!

Or this! A long and winding road with a foliage twist!

I did not remember this stunning-ness! Yes, I did make so many stops until I reached to the hotel. So many beauties. I could not help it.

After I checked in, while waiting for my friend, I had time to continue exploring through the trekking path nearby the hotel;

Absolutely stunning. I have no words.

Love the yellow-orange leaves on that tree!

After meeting my friend, we headed to capture some photos in Hallstatt (which I need to transfer from my camera first before sharing here) then to Gosausee. I was very looking forward to Gosausee, as I had not visited the place the last time I visited Obertraun. So I was definitely curious.

For sure, Gosausee was outstanding! I told my friend that the word for a mountain in German is β€œder Berg”, a masculine article, so looking at der Berg, (die Bergen– plural), surrounded the lake, fits my imagination of what der Berg should be; rugged, manly, striking, tall, and handsome. They really are! Look for yourself, if you don’t believe me πŸ˜†

Told ya!

We tried to catch the golden hours and sunset.

We were fortunate to get some golden light from the sunset

Then after it got dark, that was all for the sunset photo session that day. We did try to chasing the comet, but it was cloudy and the wind changed the cloud direction all the time. He managed to capture some mountain landscape background from der Berg im Nacht.
