Die Wanderer am Gosau-See (Tag 2)

27 October 2025

We started the day by chasing tail of sunrise in Hallstatt, we aimed to capture Hallstatt in its three famous angles. Amazingly enough, I still somehow remember the path and spots. Of course, having a friend who is very much into photography and knows a lot about photography and did all the planning is amazing. I was always stunned to see how he worked when he was doing his photography. It was amazing to see someone is that dedicated. It is wonderful to see, really.

First angle
Second angle. The most famous angle.
The third angle. The rarest angle photo among those three.

We needed to climbed the stairs for the 3rd angle. I remember climbed the same stairs 9 years ago.

See the pointy top of the church?

Before we went back for breakfast, we managed to capture some faunas in action 🙂

I like this photo, but I remember what my friend taught me about The rule of three. Go with odd numbers, never even. Three or 1 is better than 2, so people can pick a focus from a photo. Anyhow, the duck makes this three, right? 😉

After breakfast and checking out, we headed to Gosausee. Of course that day was cloudy, windy, and drizzled! But I insisted it is better to be in the location and having the odd that the sky might be clear for a while. The benefit of the doubts. Then we walked, hiked, wandered. The day was not getting better, but we captured so many things along the way!

See for yourself!

I could not stop being stunned, the colors were just WOW!!!
Which one? There are so many of them 🙂

Up, close, and personal

We even captured some ‘mood’- borrowing my friend’s term;

I just love this! I knew the moment I saw this view. This one is definitely my favourite!
The mood. So very pretty.

The hike was becoming challenging at some points, like any other hikes. But the view is constantly stunning!

I took this only because of the top of der Berg appeared, which the rest of the body is hidden by the tall pine trees. The contrast color made this distinguish too.

We wandered like 2 hours from the major lake (vorderer Gosausee), as my friend had himself some research about this Hintersee (Hinter Gosausee) he would like to capture. The place with this stomped tree, he said.

Finally we reached the place. And he was right, the place has its own charm. Very photogenic. Has its aura, somehow reminded me of Ijen.

This is when der Berg was completely covered by the heavy fog.
Der Berg began to appear
I moved my angle and der Berg appeared much definitive, of course Lightroom helped 😉

You see, der Hintersee gave a mood also.

Then we went down, took some more photos along the way. Of course! the cloud and fog did give the scenery some serious mood!

Foliage on a big bump. Cute!
No Lightroom was needed

I really enjoyed this trip, like I told to my friends, I love doing landscape photography because it combines my interests of nature, hiking/trekking, and capturing photos of nature.

It has been a very pleasant and the most autumn photo trip I have ever had!

Here is the route we hiked from 27 Oct trip.

Shout out to my photographer fellow, Sujay.
