Viele Dingen über Hamburg: Die Kunts

Day 1- 23 Oct 2025

I almost forgot to post about Hamburg trip.

I had been wanting to visit the city, ever since I knew The Wanderer above The Sea of Fog by Caspar David Friedrich had been a permanent collection in Hamburger Kuntshalle. Last year, I made my best friend visited the museum and took a photo of herself in front of the famous painting. So, this fall, I had the opportunity to visit myself, with my sister and her child. So fortunate!

Of course the first destination is Caspars berühmte Bild, der Wanderer, I felt so moved to see it myself. When I investigated the painting closely, the security warned me not to stand too close to the painting. Ouch! Entschuldigung, Herr Sekuriti. The painting looked cracked, probably because it is aging, maybe. It was painted in 18th century.

Konnen Sie sehen? The cracks!

From a far, it still looks haunting, the wanderer looks lonely but in his element.

I did not know that the museum is also the home of some famous paintings from famous artists, such as Madonna by Edvard Munch, or Nana by Edouard Monet;

The story behind this painting is interesting, so ahead of its time.

We were fortunate that the famous Swedish artist’s works were on exhibited when we visited the museum. Anders Zorn. You might have been familiar with some of his works, you can look by yourself;

I managed to capture the museum building during blue hour, and it looked gorgeous!

Love the combination of yellow and blue! Beautiful and brave!

Some captures of the city;
