So much about Hamburg: the old Church

Passed by St Nikolai on my direction to capture the last landmark, the Hamburg Opera House, Elbphilamornie. St Nikolai was built in 12th century, destroyed in a big fire then rebuilt in c1800, then bombed during WWII. Since then it is never reconstructed and became a war memorial.

As I was the only visitor that morning, I sensed the gloomy and dimmed mood from the church, got the Exorcist vibe too, I shared those thoughts with a friend 😁.

Enjoyed my time, read as much as I could from the available information and interpreted from the old photos in the display for the history bits.

The old church of St Nikolai is something special.
